“Hospitality In Churches”

Many times before when I visited different churches, and I felt so misplaced because no one seems to care whether I’m visiting or a regular attendee! No one came to welcomed me to their church. That experienced made me realize something, the importance of hospitality! Regardless of the size or the status of the congregation-hospitality must be part of the culture and character that need to be encouraged and practiced within. At cityview Baptist Church on Sofia Street and 28th Avenue, where I am worshiping it’s a place to grow spiritually, a place where different talent is being encouraged, a place to be comforted, laughs and having fun.

To build relationship though, we must go out our way and welcome the new faces. So, on Sunday worship, we had three new people visiting with us. They are also new in Canada, and I made sure that they feel welcome and introduced them to all my friends, so that, they could start building friendships too. Hopefully, this act of kindness would assist them to transition to their new community. Okey, your turn, how would you make someone feel comfortable and welcome?
